ABOUT ME
My journey from bodywork in Thailand through yoga, meditation, and Compassionate Inquiry to individual guidance. The experiences that continue to shape my approach.
Raasti Havala · My Journey and Approach
I support people in developing self-understanding, connecting with their bodies, and finding greater clarity in everyday life. My work draws on years of hands-on bodywork, yoga practice, and compassionate exploration of human experience.
I value attentive presence, respect, and a space where we can better understand our own responses. Each session begins with the person in front of me, their unique experience, needs, and pace.
My Journey
Thailand – Learning Through the Body
I spent several years in Thailand, particularly in Chiang Mai, studying and practising massage, deep tissue work, hands-on techniques, and the role of connective tissue. Over time, this work deepened my appreciation of the relationship between physical responses, tension, and lived experience.
India – Yoga and Mindful Awareness
In India, I deepened my yoga and meditation practice, including several weeks at the Isha Yoga Centre. Yoga, breathwork, and meditation have since become part of my daily life.
I later continued with Kundalini Yoga and completed teacher training under Sat Dharam Kaur. Today, I lead regular online Kundalini Yoga classes through Saibhang Klub. Individual sessions are available online or in person by arrangement, while retreats offer a separate opportunity for shared practice.
I am also listed among the teachers at Saibhang Institute in Canada.
Self-Understanding – Exploring Our Responses
My interests gradually expanded to what lies beneath our thoughts, emotions, and relationships. I completed professional training in Compassionate Inquiry® and further studies relating to trauma, addiction, and the nervous system. Studying NLP also broadened my understanding of how language, beliefs, and metaphors shape our experience.
Many patterns of behaviour can be understood as adaptations that once served an important purpose. As we begin to understand them, new possibilities can emerge.
From Insight to Everyday Life. Understanding becomes meaningful as it gradually finds expression in our decisions, relationships, and everyday responses.
How I Work Today
In individual sessions, I bring together conversation, mindful attention, and awareness of bodily sensations. My approach draws on Compassionate Inquiry®, somatic practices, and extensive experience in bodywork. Depending on the nature of the work, I support individuals as well as professional athletes.
Respect and Pace
We begin with what is present and what you would like to explore, at a pace that feels appropriate for you.
Body and Emotions
We explore sensations, responses, and connections that can deepen your understanding of your experience.
Relationships and Patterns
We notice recurring situations and beliefs, opening space for more conscious choices.
Integration
We connect new insights with practical steps in everyday life.
“Beneath many of our stories, wounds, and beliefs, there may be a place within us that remains whole, waiting to be rediscovered.”
