GPS Coordinates, and How Familiar Is This?

Why GPS Coordinates Matter - Module 10
— Accessing the Body’s Unspoken Memory
The body remembers.
Not just the mind.
But the body doesn’t remember facts — it remembers feelings, sensations, energetic imprints, and beliefs stored in the tissues, breath, posture, and emotional tone of past moments.
When we want to access implicit memory — the kind held in the unconscious, beneath words — vague language isn’t enough. The implicit memory system doesn’t respond to generalities. It listens for specificity.
We need to give it clear coordinates.
Just like a GPS system needs exact latitude and longitude to guide you to a hidden cabin in the woods, the body-mind system needs precise signals — sensory cues, emotional tone, body position, breath rhythms — to “travel back” into the memory network where the experience is stored.
Think of it like a combination lock: all the digits must align — the posture, the tone of voice, the quality of touch or breath, the emotion in the air — for the lock to click open.
Only then can we access the memory.
Only then can it shift, rewire, heal.
This is why trauma-informed work must speak the body’s language — not just through words, but through felt sense, imagery, gesture, and presence.
The 4 GPS Coordinates of the Body’s Memory

To access implicit memory — the deep, unconscious patterns stored in the body — we need to speak its language.
This means being specific, sensory, and emotionally attuned.
Think of these four coordinates as the keys to a combination lock.
When all four align, the body opens — not to stories, but to truth.
This is the gateway to transformation.
